Admission to diploma programs is open to individuals who have completed the X Standard or its equivalent with Mathematics and Science subjects. Students who have passed XII Standard or ITI exams are eligible for Direct Second Year Admission (Lateral Entry).

There is no age restriction for joining the Diploma Courses, which has been the case since the academic year 2004-2005.

A student who has discontinued their studies in the middle of a semester or who has not appeared for the board examination of the current semester can apply for readmission in the same semester in the following or subsequent academic years. They can do so if they desire to complete the course and satisfy the conditions prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education.
