Papanasam Hydro Power Station

Forty-seven EEE department students and Four faculty members visited Papanasam Hydro Power Station on 14-08-2024. It is a reservoir type of hydro plant with a total installed capacity of 4 x 8 = 32MW. The visit aimed to provide insights into the plant’s operational processes, technological advancements, and its role in sustainable energy production. Overall, students learned about the concepts of reservoirs, the penstock function, generator operation, parallel operation, automated digital control system, and switchyard function.
